Hero MotoCorp will officially launch the Splendor iSmart 110 on July 14. Unveiled at 2016 Auto Expo, the Splendor iSmart 110 is an all new motorcycle from the Gurgaon-based manufacturer.
This motorcycle is expected to help Hero MotoCorp increase its foothold in the mass market commuter segment. With the Splendor iSmart, Hero has been able to offer a bike with good fuel efficiency along with the start stop system that had become the talk of the town at the time of launch. In terms of design too, Hero MotoCorp has played safe with sticking to the 100cc sibling design language, because the market seems to like it.
The 110cc engine that powers the Splendor iSmart 110 is a new one developed inhouse by Hero MotoCorp along with its engine partner - AVL. This mill churns out 9bhp at 7500rpm and peak torque of 9Nm at 5500rpm. As per Hero MotoCorp, this engine claims to offer nine per cent more power and 12 per cent higher torque than the one in the Splendor iSmart. Along with increase in power and torque, there's increase in fuel efficiency too, as compared to the Splendor iSmart - the 100cc sibling.
In terms of features, the Splendor iSmart 110 gets the idle and start stop system (i3s) and a decent looking clock. There’s a small LCD screen that shows the trip meter, odometer and fuel level. We’re expecting Hero MotoCorp to launch this bike with a wide range of attractive paint schemes and decals – something that’ll attract a wide range of buyers. We’re expecting a pricing of around Rs 55,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base version.
