Hero MotoCorp is planning export its products to 8-10 new markets in Africa and Latin America by the end of March. The Gurgaon-based two-wheeler major has begun exporting products to Latin American countries like Gautemala, Honduras and El Savador and this is the second step in the company’s ambitious plan to establish itself in the international markets.
“We are planning to launch our products in 8-10 new markets across Latin America and Africa by March. This is as per our plans to export one million units across the world by 2016-17," said Anil Dua Hero MotoCorp senior vice president (marketing and sales).
The company might set up assembly plants in some of these markets once they see growth in their sales. But we need to wait and watch if the volumes increases as these regions are dominated by manufacturers such as Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki.
