Hero MotoCorp unveiled the new XTreme motorcycle at a press conference at Gurgaon today. This new motorcycle sports the Electronic Immoboliser technology and is the first Hero motorcycle to have it.
The electronic immobiliser is a security device that prevents the engine from running without the correct key. Another key introduction that will offer utmost safety to the premium segment Hero commuters is the Side Stand Switch with automatic ignition cut-off.
The new XTreme will also feature a new speedometer, headlight with stylish eyebrow lights, new LED tail light with light guides, a chunky fuel tank among others. The new Xtreme will also be equipped with a mobile charger socket proving greater utility to the rider. The motorcycle gets dual finish sport muffler and new stylish rear grab rails.
Mechanically, the new XTreme is powered by the same 150cc single cylinder air-cooled engine that powered the old XTreme. This engine churns out 14.4PS at 8500rpm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
The company hasn’t released the prices today but the company claims that the current consumers are ready to pay a premium price.
