Hero MotoCorp Gurgaon workers are demanding an additional salary hike of Rs 45,000 spread over a period of three years. The workers also are demanding benefits like interest free loans up to Rs 10 lakh, subsidized houses and gifts during certain occasions. If the demands are met, Hero MotoCorp workers will be the highest paid workers in the automobile industry.
The company is however not ready to meet these demands as it will make their business unsustainable. Currently an experienced Hero MotoCorp factory worker has a CTC (cost-to-company) ranging between Rs 47,000 and Rs 50,000 per month. The workers are currently benefited with four per cent interest on loans up to Rs 6 lakh.
"The increment sought is Rs 45,000, which will be spread over a three-year period. Apart from this, the workers have demanded Rs 10 lakh in interest-free loans," the sources said to ET.
Hero MotoCorp workers are not the only one to have such a tall demands. Maruti Suzuki Manesar workers had put forward some tall demands like this last year. Out of these demands, they managed to get a salary increment of nearly 70 per cent, interest free personal loans and higher medical benefits from the management.
