- Hero working on multiple bikes
- 300cc and above engines being developed
- Likely to create sub-brand for its big bikes
Hero MotoCorp has planned an aggressive path for itself. The company that earns the most from its bread and butter models like the Splendor and Passion Pro is working on a range of big bikes.
This news was confirmed by Pawan Munjal, CEO, Hero MotoCorp. According to the top honcho, the company is working on multiple bigger displacement engines which are likely to make its way to the world market in the next few years. In fact, the company showed a glimpse of its upcoming liquid-cooled engine that is likely to have a displacement between 300cc and 350cc. This new platform is likely to underpin a host of new motorcycles. For now, the company has confirmed an adventure bike, but there will be more models like a naked and a fully-faired launched in the future. The XF3R, a 300cc concept was unveiled a few years ago, and there’s a high possibility of it making its way to the production.
Hero is the largest two-wheeler company in the world and with its world class R&D facility in Jaipur, we like to believe that there are bigger displacement engines being developed. For obvious reasons, the company would first start with a 300cc and move towards larger engines. However, it will be interesting to see if the market would accept a 300cc Hero. We think the company could create a new sub-brand for its premium bikes. Through this route, Hero will be able to create a new range of motorcycles that will help the brand create its own brand value.
