•Likely to get a 421cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine
•Will be the most powerful Xpulse model
•Teased at the EICMA 2024
Hero MotoCorp has filed the design trademark for the Xpulse 421 in India. We have come across it, and here is a clear look at what the most powerful ADV from Hero could look like.
The Hero Xpulse 421 is set to get a completely different look compared to its smaller sibling, the Xpulse 200 4V or even the Xpulse 210, which will debut soon. The Xpulse 421 will get a flatter headlight topped by a taller visor. It seems surrounded by angular cladding including large shrouds for the radiator. The build appears tall with a scooped single piece like an ADV bike should get.
The design patent here shows handlebar guards, a tall tank with the seat tapering towards it, a top-box rack, and an underbelly pan too. The Xpulse 421 will get an upswept exhaust, which isn’t visible in the design sketch. However, from the visuals we saw at the EICMA 2024, the unit seems relatively bulky. However, it won’t be a surprise if Hero slims it down to a slightly more aesthetically pleasing end-can. Not to mention, as per the norms here, the bike will come with a saree guard too.
Hero will use a newly designed trellis frame for the Xpulse 421. It will house the new 421cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that will be linked to a six-speed gearbox. We expect this motor to churn out around 45bhp and 45Nm at its upper limit.
Further, along with the LED illumination, the Hero Xpulse 421 is expected to feature a full TFT with smartphone connectivity, ride modes, ABS settings, and more. As seen here, the most powerful Xpulse will ride on long-travel USD front forks and a monoshock while the braking duties will be done by a petal front disc and a regular rear disc. These will be mounted on spoke wheels wrapped in block pattern tyres. You can expect the Xpulse to get a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wheel.
As we mentioned in our earlier stories, Hero could launch the Xpulse 421 in early 2026. Once debuted, it will lock horns against the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, new generation KTM 390 Adventure, TVS Apache RTX, and the BMW F 450 GS if it too launches by then.
