Hero MotoCorp’s Gurgaon plant workers have threatened to slow down the production from Wednesday if their demand for wage hike is not accepted. The workers are complaining that the company officials are not taking this matter seriously and have been dragging the issue unnecessarily.
"We will not cooperate with the engineers and managers at the production lines from Wednesday. We will avoid any extra work and would not shoulder any responsibility beyond our original requirements in the factory," said Bhim Rao, general secretary of the Union.
Nearly 1200 permanent workers of Hero MotoCorp Gurgaon factory are demanding a hike in monthly wages by up to Rs 18,000 over a period of three years. This is nearly three times of the company’s offer of Rs 6,500.
The workers are currently wearing black badges and skipping snacks provided by the company to protest, but at the same time haven’t ruled out to go on a complete strike.
Edit: 24th January,2013
Hero MotoCorp management and Gurgaon workers will be starting fresh talks from friday to resolve the wage issue.
