Hero Motors has bagged the contract to manufacture transmission components for Ducati – the Italian bike maker.
The transmission division of the company has received order to manufacture gears for the Ducati range of bikes. Interestingly, BMW Motorrad and Harley-Davidson also source gears from Hero Motors for their global line-up. Almost 80 per cent of company’s revenue comes from global companies. In order to keep up with the latest technologies and competition, the company has invested Rs 150 crore in upgrading its infrastructure. It also plans to pump in more investment to scale up its operations in the international markets.
