Diwali launch imminent; will include refreshed Super Splendor and Achiever.
The festive season is almost upon us, and with it the rush to launch new products, or a refresh of the current lineup. Hero MotoCorp has scheduled three models for the festive season: a Super Splendor and 150 cc Achiever, both of which will get facelifts, and a revised Passion Pro, which will get the patented i3s Start/Stop system as standard.
The i3s system is currently available on the Splendor iSmart and Splendor iSmart 110, but Hero has long maintained that it will gradually make its way across the commuter range. This should help the company’s commuters remain reliable and easy-to-maintain while still meeting the increasingly-stricter emission norms that will eventually force all two wheelers in the country to switch to fuel injection.
The addition of the technology on the Passion Pro will give a technological edge and also a minute gain in fuel efficiency. Expect the Passion Pro iSmart to be priced around Rs 3000 over the equivalent standard variant.
