Hero MotoCorp has given the popular Pleasure moniker a new lease of life by launching a higher-displacement, more feature-packed and newly designed version of the scooter. Christened as the Pleasure Plus 110, it is available in two variants – one with steel wheels priced at Rs 47,300 and the other with alloy wheel which costs Rs 49,300. While the pricing sounds tempting, we bring you the alternatives which can be considered over the new Pleasure Plus 110.
Similar to the Pleasure Plus 110, there’s yet another scooter which has been a popular choice among buyers in India – the TVS Scooty Pep Plus. Priced at Rs 42,897, the Pep Plus is one of the most affordable scooters available in the market. It is powered by an 87.8cc, air-cooled mill which makes a mere 5bhp and 6Nm. The scooter features drum brakes at both the ends and is equipped with Synchronised Braking Technology (SBT) for improved stopping performance. Now, moving a bit higher in terms of budget, you can consider the Honda Cliq which is priced at Rs 44,903. A utilitarian scooter, the Cliq gets a wide footboard, 14-litre underseat storage, optional luggage rack, USB charging point and CEAT block pattern tyres which allow it to take on mildly rough roads. The scooter is powered by a 109cc, carbureted motor which produces 8bhp and 8.94Nm.
Moving on, if you are looking for a scooter with sporty styling, Yamaha has the Ray-Z. While it boasts of sharp and edgy body panels, the bold colour options and striking graphics make it further suitable for young buyers. Powered by a 113cc motor, the Ray-Z generates 7bhp and 8Nm. Moreover, it also gets a decently sized 15.5-litre under-seat storage. Yamaha retails the Ray-Z at Rs 51,847.
If you are looking for more sporty options, Honda has its striking Dio scooter. It features a sleek design and gets an apron-mounted headlamp and a V-shaped LED DRL. You get a total of nine colour options for the Dio which are accompanied by snazzy graphics. Propelling the scooter is the same tried and tested 109cc mill which powers the popular Activa. In its standard guise, the scooter costs Rs 53,031 while the DLX variant takes the price up to Rs 55,031. Subsequently, based on the same platform, Honda also sells the Activa i which features a more women-centric design and is slightly more affordable at Rs 51,067.
Unlike the aforementioned petrol-powered scooters, if you wish to go the greener way, Avan Motors offers the Xero+ electric scooter priced at Rs 47,000 (single-battery) and Rs 66,500 (double battery). While the scooter features a 48V 24Ah lithium-ion battery, it is powered by an 800w motor which gives it a top speed of 45kmph. On the feature-front, it gets a fully-digital instrument cluster and LED turn indicators.
