Hero MotoCorp has witnessed a substantial downfall of 20.40 per cent in its sales in the month of September 2019 in India. The manufacturer dispatched 612,204 units last month, as against 769,138 units in the corresponding month last year. This is a difference of as much as 156,934 units.
On the flipside, Hero reported a 12.6 per cent growth in sales if compared to August 2019 when the figure stood at 543,406 units. Amidst the consistent sales slump which has been affecting the overall Indian two-wheeler industry over the last few months, Hero has now showed signs of recovery in September. The company could record a further growth this month courtesy the ongoing festive season, which is the time when buying sentiments of the customers are high. Notably, the company has recently announced special offers for this festive season on multiple models in its portfolio.
Besides the scooters and commuter motorcycles, Hero now has a whole line-up of premium models in its ‘X’ portfolio. While the Xtreme 200R street bike was launched last year, the company introduced the XPulse 200, XPulse 200T and the Xtreme 200S in May this year. With an aim to fetch more customers for the Xtreme models, Hero has announced an exchange bonus of Rs 5000 on these bikes which will be valid until the festive season lasts.
