Hero MotoCorp sold 6,74,961 two-wheelers in September 2016, thereby registering a growth of 11 per cent over the corresponding month last year when the company had sold 6,06,744 units.
This was also a performance milestone for the company since it was its highest-ever sales in a month. Hero’s previous highest in monthly sales was recorded in October 2015 when the company had sold 639,802 units. With this, Hero MotoCorp has sold 35,68,887 units of two-wheelers between April to September this year - its highest-ever sales in the first half of any financial year.
Hero launched the new Achiever 150 motorcycle ahead of the festive season. The 150 now comes with the new BS-IV compliant engine that also features the i3S technology seen on the Splendor iSmart 110. Hero’s most popular motorcycle is the Splendor range with sales of around two lakh units a month. It is followed by the HF Deluxe which sells around one lakh units a month.
11 per cent is not a significant growth for Hero. Since the company is still regularising the use of their new engines it will see a few ups and downs in terms of sales. However, due to the next two months being festive seasons, expect higher sales figures.
