Hero has launched the Splendor Plus 25th Anniversary Special Edition in India at Rs 55,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Splendor has been Hero’s highest-selling motorcycle ever since it was launched back in 1994 and the Special Edition commemorates its existence.
The bike is based on the top-spec Splendor Plus i3S which costs Rs 54,600. The Splendor Special Edition sports a black paint scheme with yellow and orange graphics. It also gets black-finished alloys in place of the silver alloys on the standard version. The bike also comes with a ’25 years Special Edition’ badging on the side panels. Hero is also offering a charging port as standard on the Splendor Special Edition which is fitted on the handlebar.
Besides these changes, the Hero Splendor Special Edition remains the same as the bike it is based on. It is powered by a 97cc, air-cooled, carbureted motor that puts out 8.1bhp and 8.05Nm of torque. This unit comes mated to a four-speed gearbox.
Bookings have commenced and the motorcycle will be available in all dealerships across India soon. In terms of competition, the Hero Splendor goes head-on against the Bajaj CT 100 and the TVS Sport.
