The Splendor has been a bestseller for the Indian motorcycle maker for almost two decades. The new Hero Splendor iSmart 110 has been built entirely as a new product and is modern, tech savvy and stylish. The iSmart 110 was launched today at a price of Rs 53,300, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The new trapezoidal headlamp should provide improved illumination and comes with AHO (automatic headlamp on) function – DRL for motorcycles.
The two-tone paint scheme extends from the headlamp fairing to the tail and looks sporty. The engine and the cycle parts are all done in black and make the iSmart look premium.
The horizontal engine setup has given way to a more upright 110cc cylinder block with an entirely new crank case design and new engine mounting and is BSIV compliant.
The i3S (idle-stop-start system) switches off the engine when idling and starts back when you need to move to improve the fuel efficiency as well as helps in cutting down pollution.
The motorcycle has a new chassis frame that has better torsional rigidity and tuned suspension to offer good ride quality on most roads as well as stability around corners.
While the comfortable ergonomics have been carried over, the seat has been made longer to allow more space for the rider as well as the pillion. The split grab rail is also newly designed.
The instrument console has been reworked with analog as well as digital display. It now also gets a service reminder indicator which glows alerting the rider.
