It is quite rare to see Hero MotoCorp discontinuing their products from the Indian market. But when it does, there is always a strong reason for it. The Gurgaon-based manufacturer has discontinued the Splendor NXG from the Indian market.
The company has removed the Splendor NXG from their official website, so we spoke to a few big dealers in Mumbai. As per them, since the introduction of the Splendor iSmart, the sales of the Splendor NXG dropped drastically. And this could be the reason why Hero MotoCorp discontinued the bike from the Indian market. However, the dealers still have few left from the old stock and are trying to sell them as quickly as possible.
Much like the rest of the Splendor range, the Splendor NXG was powered by a 97cc single cylinder engine that produced 7bhp and 8Nm of torque. Its closest competitors were the Suzuki Hayate, Bajaj Discover 100M and the Dream Neo. While the Splendor iSmart is doing a good job, it’s quite surprising to actually see a “Splendor” being taken off the production line.
