The upcoming facelift of the country’s top-selling motorcycle, the Hero Splendor PRO, has been spotted completely undisguised for the first time. The spy shots show that the new Splendor PRO will look significantly different from its previous iterations, courtesy a host of cosmetic updates.
Most of the body panels, apart from the fenders and alloy wheels, have been redesigned to give the bike a fresh look. The front gets a new fibre cowl and a rounded headlamp, which seems to be influenced by the Splendor iSmart. The redesigned side panels blend in smoothly with the sculpted fuel tank. The new instrument cluster gets a speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge and a side stand indicator and other basic functionalities. The grab rail also gets a new design and silver finish.
The new Splendor PRO will be built around the same tubular double cradle frame. We can safely expect Hero to retain the current Splendor PRO’s 97cc engine for this new model. This single-cylinder air-cooled APDV engine delivers 8bhp and 8Nm of torque through a four-speed constant mesh gearbox.
Going by the spy shots, the new Splendor PRO seems ready to be rolled off the production lines. We can expect it to be launched in the next few months. The Hero Splendor PRO competes with other 100cc commuter bikes like the TVS Star City Plus, Bajaj Discover 100M and the Mahindra Centuro.
