Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has updated its product portfolio with the launch of the Shine 100 in our market. This new commuter motorcycle from the Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer targets Hero MotoCorp’s and India’s largest-selling motorcycle, the Splendor. Previously, we brought to you the top highlights of the new Honda Shine 100. Here, we present a detailed image gallery of the 100cc commuter motorcycle from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.
In terms of design, the new Honda Shine 100 draws styling cues from the company’s highest-selling motorcycle, the Shine 125. The styling comprises a single-pod headlight, a black headlamp cowl with matching graphics, a twin-pod instrument cluster, a chrome fuel filler cap, a flat saddle, five-spoke wheels, and a side-slung exhaust.
This commuter-segment motorcycle is available in five colours – black with red graphics, black with blue graphics, black with gold highlights, black with blue graphics, and black with grey graphics.
The mechanical specifications include a 100cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor. Linked to a four-speed gearbox, this motor produces a maximum output of 7.61bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 8.05Nm at 5,000rpm. The Shine 100 also comes equipped with OBD-2 compliance (onboard diagnostics) that monitors real-time emissions.
The feature list is basic, and the motorcycle comes equipped with a halogen headlight, bulb-type indicators, and an analogue instrument cluster. The console on the motorcycle displays a speedometer, odometer, and fuel level gauge.
The hardware on this Hero MotoCorp Splendor-rival comprises a diamond-type frame, and it uses telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks to handle the suspension tasks.
Meanwhile, the braking duties on the Shine 100 are performed by 130mm front and 110mm drum brakes at the front and rear, respectively. Meanwhile, the safety net on this commuter motorcycle comprises a side-stand engine cut-off function and a Combined Braking System.
Notably, the five-spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels on the Shine 100 are shod in tube-type tyres on both ends. Other key features of the Shine 100 comprise a seat height of 786mm, a nine-litre fuel tank, and 99kg of kerb weight.
