Hero MotoCorp has announced the launch of the BS6 compliant Super Splendor with prices starting from Rs 67,300 (ex-showroom Delhi). The latest iteration of the motorcycle gets more than just a BS6 compliant engine. Here we bring you the top highlights of the Hero Super Splendor BS6.
Updated Styling
While the overall silhouette remains similar to the BS4 model, the Super Splendor BS6 receives a few styling tweaks to distinguish it from its predecessor. The headlight cowl, fuel tank design, and the panels are noticeably different from the BS4 motorcycle. Along with the updated design for the panels, the BS6 bike also benefits from an all-new Metallic Nexus Blue colour option that is accompanied by Glaze Black, Heavy Grey and Candy Blazing Red.
To offer enhanced comfort to the rider and the pillion, Hero MotoCorp has also extended the seat length by 45mm.
New chassis
The Super Splendor BS6 also benefits from a new and rigid diamond frame. Hero MotoCorp claims that the new frame delivers improved manoeuvrability and a plush ride. The company has also increased the suspension travel by 15mm at the front and 7.5mm at the back.
Updated engine
BS6 compliance brings a fuel injection system to the Super Splendor. The power and torque output figures have dropped marginally, and the BS6 bike makes 10.73bhp at 7,500rpm and 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm. In comparison, the BS4 model produced 11.1bhp at 7,500rpm and 11Nm at 6,500rpm.
New gearbox
The company has also revised the gearbox on the BS6 model. The latest version of the Hero Super Splendor comes with a five-speed transmission. The BS4 motorcycle used a four-speed gearbox.
New disc brake setup
Hero MotoCorp has updated the braking setup with the addition of a front disc brake to the Super Splendor BS6. The previous iteration of the motorcycle was sold in a single variant that used drum brakes on both wheels. The BS6 model is available in two variants, with the premium version using with a front disc brake. The premium model is available for Rs 70,800 (ex-showroom Delhi).
