- Production increased to meet high demand
- To make 1000 units a day
- The Xtreme 125R was launched this year
Hero MotoCorp is planning to increase the production of the Xtreme 125R this year. The company has received an overwhelming response to its new 125cc motorcycle and is struggling to meet demand.
At present, Hero produces and sells 10,000 units in a month. However, demand outstrips supply and Hero expects more demand as the festive season approaches.
The company plans to increase production of the Xtreme 125R to 1,000 units a day. This should help increase the monthly output to around 20,000 to 25,000 units. The company hopes that this will significantly reduce the waiting time for the motorcycle.
The Xtreme 125R marks Hero’s entry in the premium 125cc motorcycle space for the younger generation of customers. Its bold design and features are unlike what we’ve seen in other 125cc bikes that we’ve seen in the past.
The bike is powered by a 124.77cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 11.4bhp at 8,250rpm and a peak torque of 10.5Nm at 6,000rpm. During our road test, we found that the engine is impressively refined and is fuel efficient as well, managing 56kmpl.
The Hero Xtreme 125R is available in two variants, IBS and single-channel ABS. These are priced at Rs 95,00 and Rs 99,500, ex-showroom, Delhi. The bike goes up against the TVS Raider 125 which is another big seller in the segment.
