Hero MotoCorp hasn’t yet decided to pull the plug off their flagship models – the Karizma R and the Karizma ZMR. The company plans to sell these bikes at least for another year.
As per the Gurgaon-based manufacturer, there are certain regions where there is demand for these bikes. However, it also agrees to the fact that the bikes aren’t doing well in the metro cities like Mumbai and Bangalore. In order to meet the needs of such cities, Hero will introduce new paint schemes for these bikes and the same was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.
The failure of the updated Karizmas was due to the overall design, which resembled the bigger Erik Buell Racing motorcycles. While Hero did want some design inspiration from the EBR bikes, the basic design structure went for a toss on the flagship bikes. The other reason why Hero isn’t letting go off the Karizmas is because they’re the flagship models. We might see major development on these bikes, once the HX250R is launched, as this single-cylinder 250cc motorcycle will then become the flagship model of Hero MotoCorp.
