- Spotted testing near Hero’s facility in Rajasthan
- Will be powered by a 124.66 single-cylinder engine
- Seen running on 14-inch wheels
Not so long ago, Hero MotoCorp showcased two of its upcoming aspirational scooter offerings, the Xoom 125R and the Xoom 160. Since then we have been waiting eagerly for an official announcement. While that seems some time away, we have now come across the spy shots of the Hero Xoom 125R.
The test scooter was spotted in Rajasthan around the Hero’s facility. The upcoming Hero Xoom 125R appears notably large and muscular as well. Its design language is in tandem with the current Xoom line. The rear view shots of the Xoom 125R reveal a sharp tail profile with a split LED light setup as well. It also gets a split grab rail and a large pillion footrest plate.
From what we know so far, the Hero Xoom 125R will house a 124.6cc, air-cooled engine that will churn out 9.4bhp at 7,500rpm and 10.16Nm at 6,000rpm. It will be paired with a CVT setup. Previously, Hero revealed that the said numbers are near-production and could differ slightly for the final product.
Hero will equip the Xoom 125R with LED illumination, a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, as well as call and SMS notification alerts. The Xoom 125R’s motor will be nestled in a steel chassis which will be suspended on telescopic front forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, the braking setup will comprise a front disc and rear drum.
Once launched, the Hero Xoom 125R will rival the TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Dio 125, and the Suzuki Avenis. We expect Hero to price the Xoom 125R around Rs. 80,000 for the entry-level model and about Rs. 10,000 more for the highest spec version.
