Hero MotoCorp launched its most powerful and first-ever maxi-scooter in India, the Xoom 160. It debuted first at the EICMA 2024 and has now been launched at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. If you are considering purchasing one, here are five things you should know about it.
Design
The Xoom 160 has a muscular design and is a thoroughbred maxi-scooter. It features angular panels all over and gets a central spine too. Hero has designed the Xoom 160 in a very sporty and youthful manner, it should certainly entice younger buyers. The new Hero scooter looks tall and features a split LED headlight topped by a smoke visor. Hero is offering the Xoom 160 in four colours - Matter Rainforest Green, Canyon Red, Pearl Summit White, and Volcanic Grey.
Features
Along with LED illumination, the Xoom 160 also features keyless operation, a fully digital dash, smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, notifications for calls and SMS, and single-channel ABS.
Engine
Powering the Xoom 160 is a 156cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 14bhp at 8,000rpm and 13.7Nm at 6,500rpm. It gets a CVT setup. For reference, the Xoom 160’s rival is the Yamaha Aerox 155 and it makes 15bhp and 13.9Nm.
Hardware
The Xoom 160 uses an underbone chassis, suspended on telescopic front forks and dual rear springs. Its braking hardware comprises a front disc and rear drum brake mounted on 14-inch wheels.
Price
The asking price for the Hero Xoom 160 is set at Rs. 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
