We rode the Hero Xoom sometime almost a year ago. Since then, the brand launched a new variant of it called the Combat Edition. We recently tested the scooter and here are our two cents on it.
While the Xoom Combat is offered as an ‘edition’, the only difference on it is the paint scheme. The one you see here is a grey paint scheme and gets neon highlights as well. Not to mention, Xoom’s design has always been its strongest suit and with the new colour, the visual elements have been enhanced further.
Apart from that, the Hero Xoom Combat edition gets the same features, hardware, engine, and other bits. It is powered by a 110.9cc engine that produces 8.05bhp and 8.7Nm. The unit is mated to CVT.
Hero has equipped the Combat edition with a digital cluster and Bluetooth connectivity which gives you access to turn-by-turn navigation, and call and SMS alerts. Further, there is a USB charger, LED lights, and cornering lights as well.
By the looks of it, the Hero Xoom looks and appears compact. However, once on the above, its proportions are noticeable and you will experience a fairly spacious seat. Though the floorboard may not be very spacious, you can place your feet with a little room to slide front and back.
The Xoom feels spritely and quick from the get-go. The engine is peppy and packs a good punch for city riding speeds. It is capable of quick overtakes and has a top speed of about 85kmph.
Even the suspension setup on the Hero Xoom Combat is absorbs the bumps and shocks nicely. But if you were to run over unexpected sharp and deep ruts, then the limited suspension travel becomes evident and you will feel the impact.
But is the Hero Xoom Combat edition worth around Rs. 81,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)? Read our full review to find out.
