Hero MotoCorp finally launched the Xoom scooter in India. It’s the brand’s latest 110cc scooter and sits below the Maestro range. Here are its top five highlights.
Design
The Hero Xoom takes a rather sporty design approach compared to its siblings. The LED headlight and taillight make for a futuristic touch, while the overall bodywork is pretty sharp. For reference, the side panels get creases which highlights the proportions well. The wheel design is also quite sporty and goes well with the scooter.
Features
Along with LED illumination, the Xoom gets an LCD with Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, and Hero’s i3S technology. The smartphone compatibility gives you access to call alerts, SMS, phone battery alerts, low fuel indicators, theft alert, find-my-parking, and track-my-vehicle functions. However, it doesn’t get the navigation feature. For added convenience, Hero also offers an under-boot light with the Xoom.
Engine and Hardware
It draws power from a 110.9cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with output rated at 8.05bhp and 8.70Nm. Hero uses the same motor for the Maestro as well. The Xoom rides on telescopic front forks and a single rear shock. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a front disc/drum and a rear drum setup. The brakes are mounted on 12-inch alloys wrapped in 90/90 front and 90/80 rear tyres (100/90 for the VX and ZX).
Colours and Variants
Hero offers the Xoom in three variants: LX, VX, and ZX. The three trims differ in terms of features and colour options. While the LX is available in a single colour, Hero offers the VX in three and ZX in four options.
Price
The asking price for the Xoom LX is set at Rs 68,599 and the VX and ZX cost Rs 71,799 and Rs 76,699, respectively. (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
