Hero MotoCorp has expanded its global footprint further with its entry in the Philippines. The bikemaker has partnered with Terrafirma Motors Corporation, and the latter will be exclusive assembler and distributor of Hero MotoCorp products and services.
Hero’s lineup for the Philippine market will comprise of the Xpulse 200 4V, Hunk 160R, and the Xoom 110. The Hunk 160R 4V is a rebadged Xtreme 160R 4V that is sold in India. The manufacturing unit has been set up at the Terrafirma Motors Corporation facility in Laguna, Philippines. It’s said to have an annual capacity of 1,50,000 units.
The asking price for the Xpulse 200 4V in the Philippines is set at PHP 1,40,000 (approximately Rs. 2 lakh) whereas the Hunk 160R 4V costs PHP 99,900 (approximately Rs. 1.43 lakh) and the Xoom 110 costs PHP 69,900 (approximately Rs. 1 lakh). For reference, the Xpulse 200 4V costs Rs. 1.46 lakh whereas the Xtreme 160R and the Xoom are priced at Rs. 1.27 lakh and Rs. 71,484 (all ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively. All three models are offered with a two-year or 24,000km warranty.
Hero has established about 350 customer touchpoints and plans to expand more by the end of this year.
