- XPulse 420 launch postponed to early 2025
- Early prototype was revealed in 2020
- Current XPulse lacks highway performance
The world knows about the bigger Xpulse and we have been waiting for a long time. Sadly, this project has been delayed and will be launched only in early 2025.
According to one of our dealer sources who were present at Hero MotoCorp’s national dealer conference, the XPulse 420 project has been delayed by a little over a year. The brand wants to ensure this adventure motorcycle meets top-notch standards before it makes its world debut. As of now, the R&D team is still fixing some of the issues that have been cropping up.
The early prototype of the bike was shown a few years ago. However, since then, there has been no news of the bike, until now. The current XPulse 200 is known for its off-road abilities, but it lacks the power, which results in poor highway cruising. In the city, the XPulse 200 offers a good ride, and the motor also churns out good fuel efficiency.
The XPulse 420 is being developed to cater to two sets of buyers – providing an upgrade to the current XPulse 200 owners and also bringing new customers into the world of Hero MotoCorp. Currently, the 300-400cc ADV segment is dominated by the BMW G310GS, KTM 390 Adventure, and the segment leader – the Royal Enfield 411. Interestingly, out of these three bikes, two are expected to be launched as next-generation models, and when that happens, the XPulse 420 may have a long way to establish itself.
We expect the XPulse 420 to debut at the 2024 EICMA, followed by an India launch in early 2025. In terms of pricing, this motorcycle is likely to come with a price tag of Rs 2.5-2.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
