- Will be sold as a new variant
- Rally Edition components to be sold as kit for standard model
- Indian launch details unavailable yet
Hero MotoCorp is working on the more off-road focussed XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition that will be launched in the Indian market soon. While the company is yet to make an official announcement, the type approval certificate has revealed several details about this upcoming variant. Surprisingly, the document indicates that the Rally Edition will be sold as an all-new variant. Furthermore, the company will also offer the components from the Rally Edition in the form of a kit for the standard model.
For starters, the Rally Edition variant will retain the mechanical specifications from the standard model – a strategy that we saw on the XPulse 200 (2V). Thus, the motorcycle will continue to use the 199.6cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, four-valve engine that will produce 18.9bhp at 8,500rpm.
While the specifications would remain unaltered, the Rally Edition will carry bigger dimensions than the standard version. This new version, as indicated in the type approval certificate, will boast a wheelbase of 1,427mm, a seat height of 850mm, and an overall length of 2,255mm. Similar to the 2V model, the XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition will feature longer travel suspension, a long side-stand to compensate for the additional height, handlebar raisers, and knobby-pattern tyres.
The launch details are not available yet. However, we expect to see this new version of the Hero XPulse 200 4V around the festive season. It should carry a price premium over the standard XPulse 200 4V that is currently available for Rs 1.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
In other updates, the company has launched the Euro5-compliant XPulse 200 4V in the Turkish market. The motorcycle has received an updated headlight design in Turkey, and we expect to see the new setup on the India-spec model as well. The Indian launch details, however, are not available yet.
