Hero is scheduled to launch the new Xtreme 125R in India at the Hero World 2024. With images of the motorcycle leaked, here is everything we know of the upcoming TVS Raider 125-rival.
Radical design
Sportiness isn’t limited to middleweights and litre-class motorcycles anymore; not in terms of styling at least. Even commuter class offerings now have an edge to their design and Hero will offer something on those lines with the new Xtreme 125R.
It sports a full-LED headlamp that is reminiscent of the Xtreme 200S’ unit. Sleed and low-slung, the headlamp adds character to the Xtreme 125R. This is flanked by LED turn indicators. Now, the fuel-tank is edgy as well and so is the rear section that boasts of a split-seat setup.
Expected performance
Hero has kept the power figures under wraps but it is obvious it would come with a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled unit. This is likely to offer somewhere around 12bhp and 11Nm to keep up with its competition. It will be mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Hardware
As for hardware, the Hero Xtreme 125R rides on telescopic forks and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking duties would be done by a disc up front and the option of a drum or disc at the rear. That said, ABS could be offered as standard.
Pricing
Now, the Hero Xtreme 125R’s rival- the TVS Raider 125 is priced from Rs 95,000, ex-showroom for the single disc variant. Knowing Hero’s aggressive pricing strategy, we can expect the Xtreme 125R to undercut the Raider’s pricing by a few thousand rupees to be more affordable. Well, the Xtreme 125R will be showcased alongside the Hero Mavrick 440, Xoom 160 and Xoom 125 as well.
