Hero MotoCorp has finally forayed into the 125cc sporty commuter category with the sinister-looking Xtreme 125R. We have ridden the motorcycle around Hero’s testing track and the first ride review is already live. In case you haven’t checked out the review yet, here’s a quick summary of it along with some of its pictures.
The most talked about aspect of the Xtreme 125R is its alien-like design with a ferocious front fascia similar to the Kawasaki Z1000.
In line with its animalistic headlamp section is the muscular fuel tank with sharp extensions and an upswept tail section.
Complementing the sporty design is a bunch of modern features like all-LED lighting and a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity for call and message alerts.
Powering the bike is a 124.7cc, air-cooled engine that produces 11.4bhp at 8,250rpm and 10.5Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
With a light kerb weight of 136kg and sharp handling dynamics, the Xtreme 125R turned out to be a hoot to ride on the track and it should be equally fun in the city.
It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends that are suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. A disc-drum combination handles braking duties along with optional single-channel ABS.
The new Hero Xtreme 125R is priced at Rs 95,000 and Rs 99,500 for CBS and ABS variants (both prices are ex-showroom).
