Hero MotoCorp has launched the four-valve variant of its sub-200cc roadster segment motorcycle, the Xtreme 160R. This product is available in three variants in India, and these are distinguished through their respective features, hardware, and colour options. Here we explain all variants of the 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V.
What features are available on the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V?
The feature list across the range comprises full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, single-channel ABS, and a side-stand engine cut-off function. Then, the Connected variant benefits from a Hero Connect 2.0 Bluetooth module that offers access to SMS and call notifications. This variant uses an e-sim and works with a smartphone application to send out accident-related alerts, security functions, location of the vehicle, turn-by-turn navigation, locate a dealer, book a service, or call roadside assistance. Surprisingly, the Pro variant misses the module. Instead, it uses a basic Bluetooth function that displays call alerts.
What hardware does the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V use?
Apart from the feature list, the Xtreme 160R 4V also packs slightly different hardware. The base and Connected variants, for example, use conventional telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock to handle the suspension duties. In comparison, the Pro variant gets the KYB-sourced 37mm upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. This brings the suspension setup to par with the latest iteration of the Bajaj Pulsar NS160. Meanwhile, the braking setup on all variants includes disc brakes on both wheels.
What colour options are available for the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V?
The colour options vary depending on the selected variant. The base model is available in Blazing Sports Red and Matte Slate Black colours. The Connected version is listed in a single paint theme, Matte Slate Black. Lastly, the Pro variant is available in two colours – Neon Shooting Star and Matte Slate Black.
What are the engine specifications of the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V?
The complete Xtreme 160R 4V range uses the same OBD2-compliant 163cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled four-valve motor that makes 16.6bhp and 14.4Nm, an improvement of 1.6bhp and 0.4Nm over the two-valve model. This new engine uses a bigger bore and a shorter stroke than the two-valve motor. Meanwhile, it retains the five-speed gearbox.
What are the prices of the new Hero Xtreme 160R?
The base model is available at Rs. 1,27,300, while the Connected and Pro versions are listed at Rs. 1,32,800 and Rs. 1,36,500 (all ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.
