- Receives price hike of Rs 1000
- Continues to be the most-affordable 200cc offering in the segment
- Leads the segment rivals Bajaj NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V by a huge margin
Hero MotoCorp has hiked the price of the Xtreme 200R by Rs 1000. The sports-commuter which retailed at Rs 89,900 now carries a sticker price of Rs 90,900 ex-showroom, New Delhi. However, despite the price hike, the Xtreme 200R continues to be the most affordable 200cc offering in the country.
The Xtreme 200R’s closest rivals are the Bajaj NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V which carry a price tag of Rs 1.12 lakhs and 1.11 lakhs respectively, which is a huge jump in terms of pricing. On the other hand, the askingaprice of the Xtreme 200R matches with the pricing of lower segment models like the Bajaj Pulsar 180F and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V retailing at Rs 87,002 and Rs 89,785 respectively.
The Xtreme 200R’s price hike hasn’t resulted in any changes to the motorcycle. It continues to be powered by the same 199.6cc single-cylinder air-cooled mill that registers 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm. The motor continues to come mated to a five-speed constant mesh gearbox. For cycle parts, the motorcycle features telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear while braking is done by disc brakes at both ends equipped with single-channel ABS.
Subsequently, the company has also been gearing up for the launch of the XPulse 200 and the XPulse 200T, which is just around the corner. At the same time, Hero has been reportedly working on a fully-faired motorcycle sporting the Xtreme 200R’s mill. While it’s yet to be confirmed, the new offering might be the successor to the Karizma brand, now discontinued.
