- Will be launched only in carbureted variant
- Fuel injection to be introduced this year
- Same FI system as the Xpulse
While the Hero Xtreme 200R will be launched in the next couple of weeks, a top-of-the line variant will go on sale later this year. This variant will feature a fuel-injection system, similar to the one seen in the Xpulse.
The Xtreme 200R and the Xpulse share the same chassis and powertrain, tuned differently to suit their characters. The Xtreme 200R, with a carbureted powertrain, will hit the showrooms in the next few weeks. While the Xpulse will be available with an FI system as standard when it goes on sale this festive season, the Xtreme 200R will get this at a later point in the year as an optional extra. We expect this model to be around Rs 8,000 more expensive than the base variant.
Hero is pegging the Xtreme 200R as a more powerful yet fuel-efficient alternative to 160cc premium commuter bikes. It will be priced less than Rs 90,000 mark, making it significantly more affordable than the crop of 200cc commuter bikes. The FI variant on the other hand, should be priced on par with the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the carbureted TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
