- Xtreme 200S 2V discontinued
- Replaced by Xtreme 200S 4V
- Xtreme 200S 4V likely to be exported
Hero MotoCorp has pulled the plug on the Xtreme 200S 2V from the Indian market. The company has taken the bike off its official website.
The Xtreme 200S 2V was in the market for four to five years, but it has now been replaced with the Xtreme 200S 4V. In terms of overall sales performance, the Xtreme 200S 2V didn't bring a lot of sales for the brand, but it managed to enhance Hero MotoCorp's brand image in the segment, thanks to the bike's fully-faired styling. Plus, the bike's pricing was quite competitive, but sadly, it didn't excite the market as Hero expected.
The new Xtreme 200S 4V gets many new features and aesthetic updates. It gets a new full-digital instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and call and SMS alerts. The motorcycle also gets clip-on handlebars for a sporty riding experience. In terms of performance, this Hero is powered by a 200cc, four-valve, oil-cooled motor which makes 18.9bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 17.35Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
Hero MotoCorp is expected that the new Xtreme 200S 4V will help it capture a good market share like the XPulse 200 has managed to. But only time will tell if the brand has been able to make the right changes and additions to the bike.
