- India launch likely soon
After the Xpulse 200 4V and Xpulse 200T 4V, Hero MotoCorp is preparing to launch the four-valve variant of another 200cc motorcycle, the Xtreme 200S. This upcoming motorcycle was spotted ahead of its imminent launch in our market. The spy pictures reveal the visual changes that the Xtreme 200S 4V will receive.
What’s new on the upcoming Hero Xtreme 200S 4V?
While the overall design remains similar to the two-valve version of the motorcycle, the upcoming Xtreme 200S 4V will receive new and bolder graphics. The spy pictures reveal a dual-tone finish to the motorcycle that comprises a combination of yellow and black colours along with new graphics on the fairing and the side and rear panels. Meanwhile, the four-valve variant of the motorcycle, similar to the existing version, retains elements such as a single-pod LED headlight, an LED taillight, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, a muscular fuel tank, a step-up seat, a side-slung exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
What will be the mechanical specifications of the Hero Xtreme 200S 4V?
The mechanical specifications will be similar to the existing Xpulse 200 4V duo. Thus, this upcoming version of the Hero Xtreme 200S will use a 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine in four valves. It will deliver a maximum output of 18.83bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 17.3Nm at 6,500rpm. This motor will be mated to a five-speed gearbox. The model should arrive with OBD2 compliance and E20 fuel compatibility.
What hardware will the Hero Xtreme 200S 4V use?
The hardware will be similar to the existing model, and the upcoming Hero Xtreme 200S 4V will use telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock to handle the suspension duties. The braking tasks will be handled by disc brakes on both wheels while the safety net will comprise a single-channel ABS. The motorcycle will ride on 17-inch wheels that would come shod in 100/80-section front and 130/70-section rear tubeless tyres.
What are the India launch details and expected prices of the Hero Xtreme 200S 4V?
The photographs of the new Xtreme 200S 4V appear to have arrived from a dealer meet, and thus, this motorcycle could debut in our market very soon. We expect the motorcycle to carry a marginal premium over the existing model which, for reference, is available at Rs. 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This motorcycle will rival the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer SF and Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 in the Indian market.
