- Hero Xtreme 200S BS6 priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Gets a total of three colours
- Engine receives substantial upgrade
Hero Motocorp recently launched the Xtreme 200S BS6 in India priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). And the motorcycle is being offered in a choice of three colour options.
First up is the new Pearl Fadeless White colour that features on the Xtreme 200S’ entire bodywork. This paint scheme will be sold alongside the Panther Black and Sports Red colours. All three paint schemes sport red pinstripes on the wheels that add a sporty appeal. Nevertheless, Hero has kept the styling the same as the previous model. Hence, the motorcycle comes with a full-fairing that houses an LED headlamp up front. And the rear section is similar to that of the Xtreme 200R; the motorcycle it is based on.
As part of the update Hero has also updated the Xtreme 200S’ engine. While the displacement remains the same at 199.6cc, the motor now receives an oil-cooler instead of an air-cooler like the previous model. However, the revisions have resulted in a drop in power and the Xtreme 200S now makes 17.8bhp and 16.4Nm as compared to 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm. These changes have also added a substantial 5.5kg to the motorcycle which now tips the scale at 154.5kg.
Now, Hero Motocorp has already begun bookings for the BS6 Xtreme 200S and deliveries are expected to take place sometime soon. The motorcycle competes against the Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 in the country.
