- Launched at Rs 1,15,715 (ex-showroom Delhi)
- Gets a BS6-compliant oil-cooled motor
- Features new Pearl Fadeless White colour
Hero MotoCorp has updated its product portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Xtreme 200S at Rs 1,15,715 (ex-showroom Delhi). Apart from mechanical upgrades to comply with the newest emission norms, the company has added a new colour option to the fully faired motorcycle, and it will now be available in Pearl Fadeless White. The Xtreme 200S BS6 is also available in Sports Red and Panther Black paint options.
The updated model uses a BS6-compliant 199.6cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled motor instead of the air-cooled unit on its predecessor. Linked to a five-speed transmission, the motor produces 17.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.4Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. In comparison, the BS4 version of the motorcycle was tuned to deliver 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm. The BS6 iteration of the Xtreme 200S tips the weighing scale at 154.5kg as against 149kg previously.
While the mechanical specifications have received revisions, the styling remains similar to the old model. Thus, the Xtreme 200S BS6 continues to feature a twin LED headlamp, an LED taillight, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, and the Auto-Sail technology. The LCD cluster shows information such as gear indicator, trip meter, and a service reminder.
The hardware on the latest version, similar to the old model, includes telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the back to perform the suspension tasks. The anchoring tasks are handled by a 276mm disc at the front and a 220mm rotor at the back while the safety net includes a single-channel ABS.
