- Hero Xtreme 200S and Xtreme 200R to arrive with BS6 engine soon
- Will retain the design and features of their respective BS4 iterations
- Will carry a premium over the BS4 motorcycles
Previously, Hero MotoCorp had temporarily removed the XPulse 200T, Xtreme 200S and the Xtreme 200R from its website. The two-wheeler brand, however, has updated its India website and listed the BS6-compliant XPulse 200T and the Xtreme 200S as coming soon. We also learnt that the Xtreme 200R naked roadster will also return with a BS6 compliant motor.
The Xtreme 200S BS6, as seen on the company’s India website, will retain the design and features of the BS4 motorcycle. Thus, the latest iteration of the Xtreme 200S will continue to feature a full fairing design, LED headlight, Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation and a 130mm wide radial rear tyre. The BS6 model will be sold in three colour options – Sports Red, Panther Black and Brown.
The hardware specifications, too, will remain unchanged, and the Xtreme 200S BS6 will continue to feature telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock to perform the shock absorption duties. Anchoring setup will comprise of disc brakes on both wheels while the safety net will include a single-channel ABS.
The company has not listed the engine specifications for the BS6 model yet. The Xtreme 200S will most likely share its engine with the XPulse 200. The 199.6cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine with fuel injection system on the XPulse 200 BS6 is tuned to produce 17.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.45Nm at 6,500rpm. The Xtreme 200R BS6, too, should feature the same engine.
The updated Xtreme 200S and Xtreme 200R will carry a price premium over their respective BS4 iterations. The BS4-compliant Xtreme 200S and Xtreme 200R were sold for Rs 1.02 lakh and Rs 93,400 (both ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
