- Gets oil-cooled motor
- Makes 17.8bhp and 16.45Nm
- To be priced at Rs 1,15,714
The mechanical specifications of the upcoming, BS6-compliant Hero Xtreme 200S have been revealed ahead of its imminent launch. The latest iteration of the fully faired 200cc model from the Indian two-wheeler brand will use an oil-cooled engine instead of air-cooled motor on BS4 model.
Linked to a five-speed gearbox, the 199.6cc, single-cylinder motor will produce 17.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.45Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. In comparison, the old model was tuned to deliver 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm.
The motorcycle has also gained some weight during the BS6 transition, and the latest iteration of the Xtreme 200S tips the weighing scale at 154.5kg as against 149kg previously.
The launch details are still under wraps, although dealer sources have revealed the Hero Xtreme 200S BS6 will be priced at Rs 1,15,714. The old model, for reference, was sold at Rs 1.02 lakh.
The changes will be limited to mechanical upgrades while the styling cues will be identical to the BS4 version. Thus, the BS6-compliant Xtreme 200S will pack features like a LED headlight, full-fairing design, Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument cluster, upright ergonomics, and a step-up saddle.
The hardware on the BS6 version, similar to the BS4 model, will include telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the suspension tasks. The braking setup will comprise a 276mm disc at the front and a 220mm rotor at the back while the safety net will include single-channel ABS.
Hero MotoCorp should make a launch announcement soon.
