Hero MotoCorp launched a range of new products at the Bharat Mobility Expo last week. This also included its latest quarter-litre offering, the Xtreme 250R. Here is what the new 250cc Hero bike has to offer.
Design
The newly launched Hero Xtreme 250R is quite a handsome motorcycle, thanks to its muscular proportions and angular bodywork. It looks sporty and youthful and should entice the younger generation of buyers. Hero has equipped the Xtreme 250R with LED illumination and offers it in three colours: Stealth Black, Neon Shooting Star, and Firestorm Red.
Features
Apart from LED illumination, the Xtreme 250R comes with a fully digital console that supports smartphone connectivity too. It offers notifications for calls and SMS and gets turn-by-turn navigation too.
Engine
The Xtreme 250R is powered by Hero’s newly developed 250cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve motor. It makes 30bhp and 25Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. Hero will use the same engine for the Karizma 250 as well, but that bike has yet to go into production.
Hardware
On the hardware front, TVS has equipped the Xtreme 250R with 43mm USD front forks and a preload adjustable monoshock. It uses a front and rear petal disc with dual-channel ABS for braking and the setup is mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Price
The Hero Xtreme 250R's asking price is Rs. 1.80 lakh, and it rivals the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250.
