Hero MotoCorp might launch the Xtreme Sports in Nepal, India and other Asia-Pacific markets this month. The Himalayan Times, Nepal, has reported that the premium 150cc commuter will go on sale in Nepal in the next few weeks, and we expect Hero MotoCorp to launch it here around the same time.
Hero MotoCorp had first showcased the Xtreme Sports at the Nepal Auto Show, last year, to gauge the public’s response. Now, reports suggest that the Delhi-based manufacturer will launch it in the Rs 1.42 lakh to Rs 1.51 lakh price bracket. As Hero MotoCorp hasn’t launched a motorcycle in any other global market before introducing it in India, we think that the Xtreme Sports might go on sale in India, very soon.
The Xtreme Sports was recently spied in India completely undisguised and was also spotted at its TV commercial shoot. To set it apart from the standard Xtreme, Hero MotoCorp has equipped the Xtreme Sports with a redesigned cowl near the fuel tank and one underneath the engine. It also gets new handlebars and an instrument cluster. The engine has also been revised and is expected to churn out 15.2bhp and 12.8Nm of torque.
In the Indian market, we expect the Xtreme Sports to be priced around Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 over the standard Xtreme. It will rival the likes of Honda CB Unicorn 160, Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ-S Version 2.0.
