Many pictures of the upcoming Hero Xtreme Sports were recently leaked by a website, showing the premium 150cc motorcycle in its full glory. Now, rumour mills on the internet suggest that Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch the Xtreme Sports for Rs 70,300 (ex-showroom Pune), which makes it Rs 3,000 more expensive than the standard version.
Hero MotoCorp has equipped the Xtreme Sports with a new cowl underneath the engine and one on the fuel tank. Like most other updated Hero models, the new Xtreme Sports will get new decals and colour schemes. It also gets a revised instrument cluster.
The Xtreme Sports will carry forward the same 149.2cc which is used in the standard Xtreme, though reports suggest that the power output has been bumped from 14.2bhp to 15.2bhp, while the torque has been retained at 12.8Nm. The engine will come with the same five-speed transmission.
Hero MotoCorp first showcased the Xtreme Sports at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, though the dispatch to showrooms started recently. As usual, Hero MotoCorp is tight-lipped about the Xtreme Sports and has refused to reveal the launch date of the motorcycle. Like the new Karizma and Splendor Pro Classic, we expect the Delhi-based manufacturer to silently launch the motorcycle in the Indian market.
