- Gets fully-adjustable front forks and rear mono-shock
- Makes more power than the standard model
- Features a six-axis inertial platform
Aprilia has added a new trim to the Tuono 660 line-up. Christened as the Tuono 660 Factory, this flagship variant of the Italian middleweight motorcycle range gets higher-spec hardware than the existing models. It also features a lighter kerb weight than the standard Touno 660.
The suspension setup on the new Tuono 660 Factory, for example, includes 41mm Kayaba front forks and a Sachs rear mono-shock – both adjustable for compression, rebound damping, and spring preload. The Factory variant also gets a lightweight lithium battery that helps it shed the overall weight by almost two kilograms, giving it a relatively better power-to-weight ratio.
The mechanical specifications retain the 660cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, although the power output on the Factory variant stands at 98.6bhp as against 93.7bhp on the standard Tuono 660. The peak torque output remains unchanged at 67Nm.
The rider aids on the Tuono 660 Factory include a full suite of APRC electronic controls that work with a six-axis inertial platform. The motorcycle boasts cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, cruise control, a bidirectional quickshifter, engine brake control, and selectable engine maps. Similar to the standard Tuono 660, the Factory variant gets five customisable riding modes. This variant further benefits from cornering lights
Other changes to the Tuono 660 Factory include Factory Dark graphics and a single-seat tail fairing. The tail fairing features a black and red colour and it is supplied as standard together with the passenger seat and footpegs.
The Indian launch details for the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory are not available yet, although we may see this model in our market in the future.
