Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced their sales report for June 2015, which shows an 8 per cent incline in sales. The company sold 3,48,793 units last month as against 3,23,136 units in the same month in 2014.
The sale of scooters grew as 2,19,650 units were sold this June as compared to 1,66,592 units in the same period last year. The exports also grew to 17,011 units last month as against 13,762 units in June 2014. Though, the sales of scooters and the exports registered a growth, the sales of motorcycles went down. The company delivered 1,12,132 units of motorcycles to customers in June 2015, when the company had sold 1,42,782 motorcycles in the same month in 2014.
Despite the low sales of motorcycles, HMSI managed to pull up the overall sales figures. For the first time, the company crossed the one million unit sales milestone in the first quarter itself. The manufacturer has ambitious plans for the Indian two-wheeler market and has devised different ways to connect with their consumers. With the addition of new dealerships, launch of new scooters, making Taapsee Pannu as the brand ambassador, the company also launched a helmet awareness campaign in Tamil Nadu recently.
