- 2022 Honda PCX 125 and 160 unveiled
- Sport a maxi-scooter styling
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Honda has taken the wraps off the 2022 PCX 125 and PCX 160 in the Japanese market. However, the updates aren’t extensive and are limited to new colour options.
Both scooters are now available in a new Foggy Blue Metallic and Matte Galaxy Black Metallic colour options for 2022. The rest of the scooters in terms of styling, features and performance remain the same. The Honda PCX 125 and PCX 160, both sport a maxi-scooter styling with aggressively sharp lines all over its bodywork. That said, it also gets a large 30.4-litre under seat storage unit and an 8.1-litre fuel tank.
Interestingly, both models in Honda’s PCX range also ride on a 14/13-inch wheel combo suspended by telescopic forks upfront and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is done by disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS. That said, the engines on the two scooters are different. The PCX 125 uses a 124cc, single-cylinder engine that gets liquid-cooling and offers 12.5bhp and 12Nm. It is way above the TVS Ntorq 125’s 10.6bhp and 10.8Nm.
On the other hand, the Honda PCX 160’s 156cc engine churns out 15.8bhp and 15Nm which is slightly over the Yamaha Aerox 155’s output. In terms of features, it also gets Honda Selectable Traction Control like the H’ness CB350 available in India. While both the scooters are an interesting option and would fit well as competitors to the Aprilia SXR 125 and SXR 160, they are unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon.
