Honda has announced its July 2020 sales results. The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand recorded a sales figure of 3,21,583 units. Last month saw the sales grow by over one lakh units compared to June 2020. The company had sold 2,02,837 two-wheelers in June 2020. The increasing demand for personal mobility in the COVID-19 era is said to be one of the reasons behind the bump in sales.
Exports, too, witnessed acceleration. Honda exported 12,251 units in July 2020 as against 8,042 units in June 2020.
Speaking about the sales performance, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said that the intermittent regional lockdowns across India slowed down the retail momentum gained in June as the percentage of operational network dropped to 80% in July. With India moving to Unlock 3.0, Honda is cautiously optimistic of the demand.
Last month, Honda crossed the one million BS6 sales mark. The company’s BS6 portfolio comprises of 13 models. In recent updates, the company has started to accept the bookings for the 2020 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and the Fireblade SP.
