Honda Activa 125, Hornet 2.0 and others could get Bluetooth connectivity

- Honda trademarks the name ‘RoadSync’

- Likely to be a Bluetooth system for products like the Activa 125

- It is already available in select products abroad

Honda’s premium two-wheelers available abroad, like the Forza 750 and the X-ADV, are equipped with a connectivity feature called RoadSync. And going by a new trademark filed by the brand this year, we believe a similar technology will be introduced in India for two-wheelers like the Honda Activa 125, Grazia and the Hornet 2.0. Essentially all those models which already have a digital instrument cluster.

Honda filed a trademark for the name ‘RoadSync’ in India in March 2021 and it has already been approved. This might be an indication that some work around this technology is already underway by the company. Considering how common and accessible Bluetooth connectivity has become over the last few years, Honda introducing it won’t be a big surprise. Select scooters like the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Suzuki Access 125 are already equipped with this technology. For staying strong in the competition, it will be highly beneficial for Honda to integrate Bluetooth connectivity.

Equipping two-wheelers with Bluetooth will also mean a hike in their prices. But Honda might try to keep the increment at a minimum, considering the number of price hikes two-wheelers have already witnessed over the last few months.

The existing Honda RoadSync tech is essentially a smartphone application that works concertedly with Honda’s Smartphone Voice Control system. It gives access to several features like handling calls and messages, replying to messages hands-free by voice commands, launching Google Map navigation, and controlling music. This technology is also available in the Hness CB350 that’s sold in India through Honda’s BigWing dealerships.
