Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd. took the wraps off the Activa 125 at the Auto Expo in February this year. The two-wheeler manufacturer will finally launch the new scooter in the Indian market on April 28 at an event in Mumbai.
Though the new Activa 125 is based on the outgoing Activa, there are many changes that the company has made to the new model. The fascia shows a new design on the part in between the body side indicators. The body panels have been kept clear of any fancy decals. The scooter will be available in four colours- Black, Midnight Blue Metallic, Sword Silver Metallic and Peal Sunbeam White. The other features include clear lens indicators, alloy wheels, a crowned headlight, a digital console, a combi-brake system, tubeless tyres and an optional disc brake.
The Activa 125 is powered by a 124.9cc single cylinder engine that churns out 8.6bhp of power and 10.12 Nm of torque. The company claims that the Activa 125 delivers the best in class fuel economy.
The Honda Activa 125 will be the third member in the ‘Activa’ family after the Activa i and the Activa 110. Honda might price the new scooter between Rs 56,000 and Rs 59,000 slotting it above the Activa 110. The Activa 125 will go up against the Suzuki Access and the Mahindra Duro when launched in the Indian bike market at the start of the next week.
