Honda has launched the Activa 5G in India in two variants. While the standard variant is priced at Rs 52,460, the DLX variant costs Rs 54,325.
The Activa 5G retains the bodywork of the previous model, although with a few minor revisions. The scooter gets a touch of chrome on the revised front apron and the badging for a premium feel. However, the major change on the Activa 5G is the full-LED headlamp, a first in class feature. Also new is the a part analogue-part digital instrument console that is only available on the DLX variant. The Activa 5G now gets a seat opener switch next to the ignition slot and continues with a conventional underseat fuel filler cap.
Powering the scooter is the same 109cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 8hp and 9Nm of torque. The scooter will be available in black, white. blue, brown, grey and matte silver colour schemes along with two new colours-yellow and red.
It competes with the TVS Jupiter and the Yamaha Fascino in the Indian market. On the other hand, the Activa 5G is only Rs 1,000 more expensive than the older model which is a reasonable hike considering the upgrades.
