- To be available in two colour schemes
- Remains the same in terms of features and cycle parts
- Could be a move to tackle the dwindling sales of the Activa 5G
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is all set to launch a limited edition model of the Activa 5G, its highest selling two-wheeler in the country. The scooter was recently spotted and the deliveries are scheduled to commence soon.
The Honda Activa 5G limited edition has received new graphics for a distinctive look. It was spotted in a pair of colour schemes which include dual-tone options of silver/black and pearl white/gold. The silver colour model gets black finish on the front fender, front apron, handlebar cowl and the rear panel while the white shade gets similar touches of gold. Besides the cosmetic alteration, the scooter remains the same.
The Activa 5G is powered by a 109.19cc, carbureted motor which produces 8bhp and 9Nm. Suspension duties on the scooter are handled by trailing-link setup at the front and a monoshock at the rear while braking is taken care of by drum brakes. Honda is readying the 6G version of the scooter which will be powered by a BS-VI compliant motor while the front suspension is likely to comprise of telescopic units. Moreover, it will also receive a new bodywork.
The company has witnessed a significant drop in the sales of the Activa 5G in the recent months and this new version could be a move to tackle the same. The limited edition will be available in standard and deluxe variants both. While the standard model of the former is priced at Rs 54,632, the latter costs Rs 56,497 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). The limited edition model is reported to come with a minor premium of Rs 400 over the standard models.
