The Honda Activa 6G is hands down the most popular scooter in India. Even with the market slowly transitioning to the 125cc segment, it still remains the highest selling scooter in the country and the biggest cash cow for Honda. In this article, we tell you all that you need to know about the Activa 6G.
Conventional design
Honda has adopted the ‘if it’s not broke, don’t change it’ outlook for the Activa. While it has received styling changes over the years, the scooter is still has the recognizable and conventional-looking design it started off with. Now, the Activa 6G is the sleekest of the lot with a few sharp lines and contours all over its bodywork. It also gets chrome garnishing on the front apron that adds a hint of premiumness.
Frugal engine
Under the all-metal bodywork, the Honda Activa 6G comes powered by a 109cc, fuel-injected mill. This motor churns out 7.7bhp and 8.79Nm of peak torque. The motor is smooth and the inclusion of the silent starter results in a seamless experience right from the start. That said, with the BS6 transition the Activa 6G is said to offer 10 per cent better fuel efficiency than before.
Decent features
Honda has equipped the Activa 6G
with just the right amount of features. SO there is the full-LED headlamp, an engine start-stop switch, silent starter and external fuel-filler cap. However, the 6G has gone back in time with its instrument cluster. While it came with a semi-digital unit on the 5G Deluxe variant, the 6G gets a plain analogue unit.
Pricing
The Honda Activa 6G is available in three variants. The standard version is priced at Rs 70,599 while the DLX version is priced at Rs 72,345. On the other hand, the Anniversary edition has been priced at Rs 71,145 and Rs 72,891 for its standard and DLX versions respectively. With that said, Honda is offering its ever popular scooter in a choice of eight colour options.
